“Il Pollenza” located in Tolentino, was bought by count Brachetti-Peretti more than twenty years ago from the house of Antici Mattei.

The beautiful 16th century building was designed by Sangallo and rises up amid the gorgeous landscape of Macerata hills. The estate spans around 690 acres, 170 of which are occupied by the vineyard.

Terroir

The vineyards are located about 15 miles from the sea and 20 miles from Sibillini mountains. They are arranged at varying heights, from 110 to 150 meters above sea level.

The cultivation is recognizable for well-known and noble varieties of international vines, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, as well as local vines such as Ribona, Trebbiano and Sangiovese.

The harvest takes place mostly by hand in wooden boxes, mostly and minimally using latest generation machinery, between the end of August and the first half of September.

Wines

The ethos of “Il Pollenza” includes a sincere passion for the land and a steady commitment to the best cultivation techniques, as well as high quality standards for wine-production. These factors have shaped both the method and produce of “Il Pollenza”.
